The Department of Mathematics hosted a seminar titled “Applications of Mathematics in Industry” on 7th May, 2026. The talk was conducted by Dr. Waqas Ashraf, Associate Professor from the Institute of Space Technology, who emphasized the vital role of Mathematics in advancing innovation, improving industrial systems, and addressing real-world challenges. He also highlighted the increasing future demand for Mathematical expertise in emerging technological domains. The seminar was concluded with an interactive question and answer session.

The Department of Mathematics organized a workshop on “MAPLE/Python: Animating Mathematics with Manim on 6th May, 2026 for the Mathematics faculty members and MS Scholars. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Muhammad Rizwan, who shared valuable insights into mathematical visualization and animation using modern computational tools. The session provided an interactive learning experience and highlighted innovative approaches to present mathematical concepts through programming and animation.

NUML signed an MoU with Tech Valley Pakistan in March 2025, under which Tech Valley is offering 18 soft skills courses aimed at enhancing the professional and personal competencies of NUML students, faculty and staff. Participants will be required to register by filling the registration form and download the challan form from this link to submit a nominal fee of Rs. 500 to enroll in the courses.

On April 29, the Department of Korean Language and Culture, in collaboration with the Islamabad King Sejong Institute at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Pakistan, successfully organized the 16th Korean Language Speech Contest. A total of 14 talented students participated in the competition, presenting on a variety of topics.
